Change to Completion Requirement for Automotive Service Technician (AST) ACE IT
The ITA currently requires AST ACE IT students to write the C of Q exam and pass it with a score of at least 70% in order for the school district to receive the $1000 completion payment.
The requirement for an AST ACE IT student to write the C of Q exam will be removed as of the February 2016 ACE IT intake. Any students registered in this intake, and afterwards, will not be required to write the C of Q exam.
As of the February 2016 intake, the completion requirement for the AST ACE IT program will be at least 70% class mark. If an AST student scores a minimum 70% class mark, the school district will receive the $1000 completion payment.
You may have students that still wish to write the C of Q exam, and we are currently reviewing whether or not to allow this if they do not have a sponsor. Once a decision is made, we will inform you.
Please note that there is no change to the ITA program standard for the Automotive Service Technician program. Students must still complete the AST 1 C of Q exam for certification.
